A: Maple Maids sends trained, insured cleaning professionals. We aim to send the same team for recurring services whenever possible, but substitutions may occur due to vacations, illness, or scheduling needs.
Q: Do I need to purchase any cleaning supplies or equipment?
A: No. We bring standard cleaning supplies and equipment. If you prefer specific products (including green products), you may provide them and we’ll gladly use them if notified in advance.
Q: How is pricing determined?
A: Pricing depends on the size of the property, service type, condition, and frequency. Your flat-rate quote is based on the information you provide at booking. If the home condition differs from what was described, additional time may be billed hourly.
Q: How long does a cleaning take?
A: Typical service time is:
- Apartments: up to 2 hours
- Houses: up to 3 hours
Times can vary based on condition, scope, and special requests.
Q: What is included in a standard cleaning?
A: Standard cleaning typically includes dusting, vacuuming, mopping, bathroom sanitizing, kitchen surface cleaning, mirrors, fixtures, and general straightening.
Q: What is NOT included in standard cleaning?
A: Standard cleaning does not include (unless quoted separately):
- Walls or ceilings
- Curtains or blinds
- Balconies/patios
- Exterior windows
- Carpet shampooing or upholstery cleaning
- Laundry, ironing, or dishwashing
- Organization or moving items inside drawers/cabinets/closets
- Permanent stain removal or restoration services
Some of these items may be available as add-ons.
Q: Does my home need to meet certain safety conditions before cleaning?
A: Yes. The property must be safe, sanitary, and accessible. For the safety of our cleaners, Maple Maids does not provide service in homes with:
- Active infestations (including bed bugs, fleas, roaches, rodents, or similar pests)
- Biohazard conditions (including human/animal blood, vomit, bodily fluids, feces, medical waste)
- Excessive clutter/hoarding conditions that prevent safe access and effective cleaning
- Unsafe environments (mold hazards, structural danger, exposed wiring, aggressive animals, or other hazardous conditions)
These situations require specialized remediation and are not included in standard cleaning services. If discovered upon arrival, we may refuse or stop service and applicable cancellation/lock-out fees may apply.
Q: Are there any homes or conditions you do NOT clean?
A: Yes. We do not perform pest remediation, biohazard cleanup, or extreme hoarding cleanouts. If the home is unsafe or not reasonably accessible for cleaning, service may be declined or stopped for safety reasons.
Q: Do I need to be home during the cleaning?
A: No. Many customers are not home during service. You can provide a key, lockbox code, garage code, or other access instructions. If we cannot access the property, a lock-out/no-access fee may apply.
Q: How should I prepare for the cleaning?
A: To help your team clean efficiently:
- Pick up excessive clutter so cleaners can access surfaces and floors
- Secure fragile, high-value, sentimental, or irreplaceable items
- Provide clear access instructions (alarms, parking, entry codes)
- Ensure water and electricity are available and working
Q: Do you clean homes with pets?
A: Yes — Maple Maids loves pets. If pets are anxious or protective, please secure them or provide instructions. Homes with heavy pet hair may require an additional fee.
Q: What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
A: We require at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule.
- Less than 24 hours: $55 cancellation fee
- No access / lock-out / no-show: full service charge applies
Q: What if I’m not satisfied with the cleaning?
A: Contact us within 24 hours of service. We’ll schedule a return visit to re-clean the affected areas. Due to the nature of the service, refunds are not provided.
